About This Calculator

The Period Calculator predicts upcoming menstrual period start dates using the first day of your last period and the cycle length you usually experience. It is a calendar tool for planning and tracking rather than a fertility or pregnancy test.

Methodology

A menstrual cycle is counted from the first day of one period to the first day of the next. The calculator repeatedly adds the cycle length you enter to the last-period start date until it reaches the next predicted future start, then projects two additional cycles using the same interval.

Disclaimer
Menstrual cycles can vary from month to month, especially with illness, stress, hormonal changes, adolescence, perimenopause and some medical conditions. Predictions are calendar estimates and should not be used to diagnose pregnancy, fertility or abnormal bleeding.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is the next period date predicted?

The calculator adds your usual cycle length to the first day of the last period and advances by the same interval until it reaches the next predicted future start.

Will the prediction be accurate with irregular periods?

It may be less useful when cycle length changes significantly from month to month because the calculation assumes the cycle length entered repeats.

Is this an ovulation or fertile-window calculator?

No. This page is intentionally focused on predicted period dates; fertility calculations are handled by separate ovulation tools.
