About This Calculator

The TDEE Calculator estimates how much energy your body may use in a typical day after accounting for both resting energy needs and your selected activity level. It is useful for understanding daily energy expenditure before choosing a maintenance, weight-loss or weight-gain intake target.

Methodology

The calculator first estimates resting energy expenditure with the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: 10 × weight in kilograms + 6.25 × height in centimeters − 5 × age, then adds +5 for males or −161 for females. The result is multiplied by the selected activity factor to estimate total daily energy expenditure.
